Drugs & Kids. It’s a reality every parent and caregiver must face – head-on. You can’t deny it. You can’t ignore it. But you can raise drug-free children. As parents or other concerned caregivers, you are your children’s greatest resource. Warning signs of a potential drug problem include:

1. Drop in academic performance
2. Lack of interest in personal appearance
3. Withdrawal, isolation, depression, fatigue
4. Aggressive, rebellious behavior
5. Hostility and lack of cooperativeness
6. Deteriorating relationships with family
7. Change in friends 8. Loss of interest in hobbies and/or sports
8. Change in eating/sleeping habits
9. Evidence of drugs or drug paraphernalia (e.g., needles, pipes, papers, lighters)

Physical changes (e.g., runny nose not from cold, red eyes, coughing, wheezing, bruises, needle marks) D.A.R.E. is one of the oldest and unquestionably the largest substance abuse and violence prevention program in the United States.

Now operating in 80% of all school districts around the country and reaching over 36 million young people, D.A.R.E. is the most extensive drug prevention program in the country. D.A.R.E. America has trained more than 50,000 law enforcement officers to teach the D.A.R..E program in all 50 states.
